The Nun

Recently in class, we were able to watch a very interesting documentary about a Russian nun. This woman was not a young woman by any means but she was new to the religious lifestyle. This woman had a musical background and even had met a man who shared the same passion that she did. They fell in love and got married. They even had children. Unfortunately for her, the husband ran off and abandoned her and the rest of the family. It was at this point that one of here children became deathly sick. She prayed everyday and promised to devote herself to God if He would allow her son to live. The boy recovered and she decided she would fully commit to God and become a nun.

            I really respect this woman and her will and commitment to give up here lifestyle and completely move onto a different life. I’m not sure that I am as strong as this woman but I do believe this woman is a role model for those who think it is too late in life to change and devote oneself to God.
