Black Death

If an epidemic such as the bubonic plague in Europe happened in America today, I think certain effects would be very similar.  While it wouldn't be jewish people, I believe that foreigners would be persecuted and blamed for the outbreak because there are already strong sentiments again them.  I think many people would turn to god as they did in Europe but not quite as intense as those who punished themselves to try and protect themselves.
